"The Search is Over" for Scott MacIntyre

Scott MacIntyre's journey to the Season 8 of American Idol is "Over".

Scott performed "The Search Is Over" and took a risk by playing the electric guitar instead of the piano on "Birth Years Performance Night" of American Idol Top 8 performances night and that difficult song made him going home tonight.

Even the judges were not satisfied on why he chose and on how he delivered the song. To quote:

Kara: "You took on a very difficult song.I'm not sure that I would've picked that song for you as a power ballad...You had some good moments but you also had some off moments...."

Paula: "I just think that maybe reaching for some of those high notes came out at times a little bit screeching."

Simon: "I suggest you go back to the piano next week...the song was horrible!"

Randy: "It didn't show you as a star as one of the best undiscovered talents in America."

American Idol Says Goodbye to Michael Sarver

Michael Sarver who performed "Ain’t Too Proud to Beg" on American Idol Top 10 performance night was sent home tonight.

As a recap, here’s what the judges said on Sarver’s last night performance:

Paula Abdul: "For me this was a tough performance. Felt Las Vegas loungy for me. You need to be dominating that song.

Simon Cowell: "I couldn’t wait for it to end. You were screaming and shouting. You have no chance of winning based on that type of vocal. In the real world it isn’t good enough."

Randy Jackson: "The song was a little to big for you. You made it little corny. It wasn’t a great performance."

Kara DioGuardi: "We are looking for an artist. Next week you need to be an artist."

Scott McIntyre and Matt Giraud joined Sarver in the bottom three spot.
